Kitesurfing Is Solinas – Sardinia

The Spot

Is Solinas is a fantastic spot with the Mistral wind, white sand, and a sandy and shallow seabed, making it extremely easy and enjoyable. The Mistral, a northwest wind, is often stronger and less crowded compared to other northern spots like Porto Botte and Punta Trettu. An exceptional advantage of this spot is the vast, enclosed bay, which eliminates the need for assistance as the wind consistently blows towards the shore. This spot is ideal for progressing and improving your jumping and kite surfing skills. Moreover, the seabed gradually deepens as you move away from the coast, making it perfect for practicing kite foil and wing foil. Is Solinas is truly a paradise for water sports enthusiasts, offering opportunities for both beginners and experts to fully enjoy the experience. Don't miss the chance to take advantage of the Mistral wind and the incredible conditions of this spot!

The Wind

At the Is Solinas spot, the prevailing winds for kitesurfing are the Mistral, Ponente, and Tramontana. Of course, the most beautiful days are the ones without Mistral clouds, as the wind remains constant and strong throughout the day.

How To Get There

If you are coming from Cagliari, we recommend following the road with fewer curves, passing through Villamassargia and Carbonia, and transiting through San Giovanni Suergiu. This route will allow you to reach the Is Solinas spot more quickly and easily. If, on the other hand, you are located in Pula or Chia, it is advisable to take the coastal road from the south, which will lead you directly to the Is Solinas spot. This scenic route will allow you to enjoy breathtaking views along the way.
